Semi-automatic measurement using 10x observation optics

The M3000 provides fast and easy testing of bulk substances with melting points up to 360 °C. Thanks to the triple capillary approach, it is possible to analyze three samples in one measurement run. Thanks to the preheating speed and integrated fan cooling, fast measurements in any temperature range are possible. The display provides a clear readout of all important measurement data.

  • Typical applications

Determining the melting point is of great importance in substance identification studies, as many substances can be determined by their melting points. The purity of a substance can also be measured qualitatively from its melting point. A well-defined melting point is only given for substances that are 100% pure. Due to impurities, such as impurities or admixtures, most substances have a melting range (from the beginning to the end of the melting process) of a few degrees Celsius. Even impurities during the production of chemicals extend this melting point to a certain melting range. As a result, most substances that are tested with a melting point meter have a melting interval. This effect is intended to determine the degree of contamination of a substance.

  • Advantages of automatic and semi-automatic measurement
Melting point determination is a basic technique for analyzing samples, providing important information about the composition and purity of the material. It is also a technique that can be performed without specialized equipment.

  • Certified traceable calibration standards for melting point determination

To meet the requirements for verifiability and traceability of results, we have ready-made standards and reference materials. The use of these standards ensures reliable analytical results and reduces the laboratory's validation effort.
