Infrared thermometers

Infrared thermometers for non-contact temperature measurement

Infrared thermometers are modern measuring instruments that use thermal radiation emitted by the tested surface. The non-contact nature of the measurement allows you to read the temperature of the object without the need for contact, which is invaluable in situations where the test surface is hot, moving, energized or simply difficult to reach. The measurement takes a fraction of a second, and the result appears immediately on the easy-to-read LCD display.

The most important advantages of non-contact temperature measurement are:

  • Instant readout without the risk of contamination of the sample,
  • safe work with live and moving components,
  • measurement of objects of small dimensions and difficult to access,
  • no influence of the thermometer on the temperature of the tested surface,
  • Serial measurements at a large number of points are possible.

In the DANLAB range you will find a wide selection of infrared thermometers from the renowned Testo brand: from compact pocket models to advanced pyrometers for precise technological measurements.

1-point, 2-point and multi-point laser sight

The precision of non-contact measurement depends on whether the operator knows exactly what area he is measuring. The laser sight indicates the point on the object where the reading is taken. The thermometers available in our offer are equipped with lasers of various types, adapted to different specifics of work.

The available variants of measuring field marking are:

  • 1-point sight for simple spot measurements,
  • 2-point sight, precisely defining the boundaries of the measuring field,
  • multi-point sight for marking irregularly shaped areas,
  • optics adapted to measurements from different distances,
  • Ergonomic, pistol-like body shape for easy aiming.

Two-point and multi-point laser sights are particularly useful where there is a need to confirm that the measurement is being taken in the right place - for example, in control reports, technological audits or in building inspection documentation.

Wide measuring range from -50 to +1500°C

The range of infrared thermometers includes devices covering a very wide temperature spectrum. The offer includes models designed for measuring freezing temperatures in cold stores and freezers, as well as pyrometers designed to work with heated industrial furnaces, steel mills and technological processes requiring the measurement of very high values. Such a wide range allows you to choose equipment perfectly suited to the specifics of the industry.

Typical applications in the individual temperature ranges are:

  • negative measurements in refrigerated transport, freezers, warehouses,
  • ambient temperatures and measurements in the food industry,
  • control of the operation of machines, bearings, electrical installations,
  • monitoring of technological processes in heavy industry,
  • temperature measurement of furnaces, steelworks and metal castings.

Selected models are additionally equipped with a K-type thermocouple probe input, which allows you to combine the advantages of non-contact and contact measurement in one device. This is especially valuable when the operator needs to quickly verify the indications on the surface and inside the object being tested.

Smartphone-controlled pyrometers and IR thermometers

Modern non-contact thermometers use wireless technology to work with mobile devices. Smartphone-controlled pyrometers allow you to read the results on the screen of your phone or tablet, and a dedicated mobile application extends the functionality to include recording measurements, integration with photos and creating reports. This solution is particularly appreciated by service technicians, auditors and inspectors performing measurements in the field.

The advantages of thermometers working with a mobile application are:

  • convenient reading of parameters on the large screen of the smartphone,
  • automatic saving of results without the need to take notes,
  • integration of photos of the object with the measurement protocol,
  • export of reports from the place of measurement,
  • Easily share results with a customer or supervisor.

The app also allows you to use your camera. The image indicates the object to which the measurement relates, and the multi-point laser sight precisely marks the location of the reading. This means that the report contains not only a numerical value, but also a visual confirmation of the measurement conditions.

Adjustable emissivity and NTC sensor

The emissivity factor determines how intensely a given surface emits thermal radiation. Different materials - polished metal, wood, concrete, plastic, matte paint - have different emissivity, which directly affects the measurement result. The thermometers in our offer allow you to independently enter the emission values in the range from 0.1 to 1.

Other functions that affect the precision of the measurement are:

  • modern processors with high measurement resolution,
  • advanced optics, focusing thermal radiation,
  • built-in NTC sensor, enabling contact measurement,
  • comparison of air temperature with the temperature of the tested surface.

Models equipped with an NTC sensor are particularly suitable for the construction industry, where they allow you to quickly and accurately compare the air temperature with the temperature of a fan, ventilation duct or window. It is an indispensable tool during the inspection of thermal insulation of buildings and energy audits.

Audible alarm and minimum and maximum value memory

Infrared thermometers are equipped with features that make it easy to monitor a series of measurements and immediately detect values that deviate from the set thresholds.

Their features to support your daily work with an IR thermometer include:

  • audible alarm - informs about the completion of the measurement,
  • visual and acoustic alarm - when exceeding the threshold,
  • memorizing minimum and maximum values,
  • independent programming of alarm thresholds by the user,
  • ergonomic body, adapted to long series of measurements.

Easy configuration of alarm parameters allows you to adapt the device to the specifics of the controlled process - both for fast measurements in the field and for long, repeatable series of readings performed in laboratory or production conditions.

Non-contact thermometers in industry, construction and laboratory

The versatility of infrared thermometers makes them suitable for almost every industry where fast and reliable surface temperature measurement is important. In our offer you will find models adapted to a wide variety of industry applications.

Here are the industries and applications where IR thermometers work best:

  • construction industry - inspection of insulation, thermal bridges, ventilation,
  • HVAC and service of heating and air conditioning systems,
  • research laboratories and control of technological processes,
  • food industry - HACCP measurements in cold stores and during transport,
  • Electrics and maintenance - diagnostics of bearings, motors, switchgears,
  • metallurgy, foundry and high-temperature processes.

All infrared thermometers available in the DANLAB store come from the renowned manufacturer Testo and are covered by professional advice and full after-sales service. We will help you choose a model tailored to the specifics of the operation, the required temperature range and the expected accuracy of measurements.
