SFTvh Perfection

The Liebherr SFTvh 1501 is an under-counter laboratory freezer for labs where a constant temperature is not enough and complete, verifiable storage documentation is also essential. It belongs to the Perfection series and meets all the criteria of DIN 13277 for laboratory refrigerators and freezers. At 819 mm high, it fits under a bench. It operates in a temperature range from -9°C to -35°C.

Compliance with DIN 13277
DIN 13277 sets out requirements and test methods for refrigerating appliances used in laboratories and for storing medical products. It covers aspects such as temperature distribution, recovery time to the set point and alarm functions. Meeting its requirements confirms that the freezer will maintain the storage conditions declared by the manufacturer. It also makes it easier to justify the choice of equipment in laboratories with a quality management system.

NoFrost: no frost and no manual defrosting
The fan-assisted cooling system captures moisture entering the chamber, and defrost cycles start automatically when needed. No ice forms on the walls, drawers or sample packaging, so labels stay legible and the freezer never has to be switched off or emptied for defrosting. Forced air circulation also ensures a very even temperature distribution: the temperature gradient in the chamber is only 3.2°C, and the maximum fluctuation is 3.9°C.

Precise control and early warning
The Touch & Swipe controller shows the temperature on an external display and triggers a visual and audible alarm at a deviation of as little as +2.0 K or -2.2 K from the set point. The power failure alarm is triggered immediately and remains active for at least 12 hours after the power supply is interrupted. After the door has been open for one minute, the chamber returns to the set point in about 14 minutes, and cooling down from +25°C to -20°C takes 102 minutes. In the event of a power failure, the temperature takes 57 minutes to rise from -20°C to -15°C.

Complete storage documentation
The built-in data logger records the temperature profile, and the data can be downloaded via the USB port. The controller also keeps an alarm history and stores the minimum and maximum temperatures. The integrated, removable SmartModule (Wi-Fi/LAN) allows the freezer to be connected straight away to the Liebherr SmartMonitoring service or to a local monitoring system. A potential-free contact forwards alarms to the building management system. An optional product sensor can be added to measure the temperature closer to the samples themselves.

Interior and ergonomics
The chamber is divided by 3 drawers and 2 glass shelves with a load capacity of up to 40 kg and a usable area of 38 × 26.6 cm, and LED lighting makes it easy to find samples. The seamless polystyrene lining with rounded corners is easy to clean, and the unit meets the requirements of cleanliness class ISO 5. The door is self-closing, and its opening direction can be reversed by the user. The handle has an antibacterial coating, and a mechanical lock protects the contents from unauthorised access.

Efficiency and durability
All components of the Perfection series, from the compressor to the electronics, are selected for low energy consumption. The SFTvh 1501 consumes 187 kWh per year at a rated power of 80 W, runs quietly (40 dB) on the natural refrigerant R600a and can be operated on 50 or 60 Hz mains. Liebherr designs it for 15 years of operation and provides spare parts for 15 years after the end of series production.

Applications
The SFTvh 1501 is designed for diagnostic, clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and research laboratories. It is ideal wherever sensitive samples, reagents, enzymes or standards are stored and storage conditions must be documented, for example in accredited labs, in GLP/GMP environments or for quality audits. Thanks to its under-counter design, it also fits smaller rooms and workstations. It is not intended for flammable substances.
