Liebherr SFPvh 1402 Perfection – two-door laboratory freezer compliant with DIN 13277, 1391 l, -9°C to -35°C

The SFPvh 1402 is the best-equipped version of Liebherr’s large two-door laboratory freezer. It shares the same housing and capacity as the Performance model. What sets it apart is the full set of features needed in laboratories with a quality management system: compliance with DIN 13277, a built-in data logger, factory-fitted network connectivity and an electronic lock. It is designed for places where maintaining the temperature is not enough and it must also be possible to document it.

DIN 13277 and complete documentation
DIN 13277 sets out requirements and test methods for refrigerators and freezers used in laboratories and for storing medical products. The SFPvh 1402 meets its criteria for performance and operation. Documentation is ensured by built-in equipment:

• Data logger: records the temperature profile, and the data can be downloaded via the USB port.
• Alarm history: makes it possible to trace when and which events occurred.
• Min./max. temperature recording: available directly on the controller.
• Product sensor: measures a temperature closer to that of the stored material than the chamber air reading alone.

Connectivity as standard
The SmartModule with WLAN/LAN interface is factory-fitted and removable. The unit can be connected straight away to the Liebherr SmartMonitoring system to monitor and archive temperature remotely. A potential-free contact forwards alarms to the building management system or a control centre. Users choose which alarms are transmitted, with what delay, and whether a reminder should follow acknowledgement.

Access control and failure response
The doors have a remotely controlled electronic lock. A remote control and a digital input, which allows the lock to be connected to an external access control system, are available as accessories. The power failure alarm is triggered immediately after a power outage and remains active for at least 12 hours, so a failure will not go unnoticed, even at night. The doors are self-closing, and the external display and Touch & Swipe control allow settings to be read and changed without opening the chamber.

Efficient cooling of a large chamber
The dynamic cooling system with NoFrost technology reaches temperatures down to -35°C and requires no manual defrosting. The maximum temperature fluctuation is 4.9°C, and the gradient in the chamber is 2.9°C. After the door has been open for one minute, the unit returns to the set temperature in 16 minutes, and cooling down from +25°C to -20°C takes 63 minutes (empty chamber). The AISI 304 stainless steel interior is illuminated by a double-sided LED column, and 8 adjustable shelves with a load capacity of 60 kg allow the layout to be adapted to containers and racks.

Applications
The SFPvh 1402 is ideal where, in addition to large capacity, standard compliance and documentation matter:

• diagnostic and hospital laboratories, including the storage of medical material requiring sub-zero temperatures,
• accredited laboratories and those working within quality systems (GLP/GMP, ISO 17025) where temperature records and alarm history are required,
• pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry: raw materials, intermediates and reference samples,
• biobanks and research centres with central equipment monitoring,
• cleanrooms up to ISO Class 6.
