Combines a two-stage rotary vane pump and a two-stage chemical diaphragm pump to increase chemical resistance. The diaphragm pump keeps the oil reservoir under vacuum to keep the partial pressures of solvent vapors at levels below their condensation points which reduces the concentration of oxygen and corrosive gases. Therefore, hybrid pumps have a much higher resistance to aggressive gases than conventional rotary vane pumps.

  • Capacity 5.9/6.9 m³/h
  • Final vacuum 2x10-3 mbar

THERMODYNAMIC PRINCIPLE OF HYBRID PUMP FUNCTION

9c492a4c0e8e1bd6152a3c462da4627e1 - Steam is drawn in at low pressure and ambient temperature.

2 - The steam is heated to about 60 ° C by heat exchange and compression in the pump.

C - The problem of condensation in "normal" rotary vane pumps: On the way to atmospheric pressure, saturated vapor pressure (liquid transition) is reached inside the oil-filled section. The result: Condensation and corrosion inside the pump; oil contamination.

3 - Hybrid pump: The chemical diaphragm pump discharges vapors from the oil tank of the vane pump. Under the intended operating conditions, no condensation occurs inside the oil-filled part, especially in the oil tank. (Any condensation occurring in an oil-free diaphragm pump is much less problematic.) Less condensation means less corrosion and cleaner oil for longer life. For example, in the case of acid vapor, emptying the oil tank to 20 mbar reduces corrosion by about 50 times!
