Available Models
Abbe refractometers AR series are classic laboratory devices used for refractometric measurements in a wide range of nD refractive index and Brix sugar scale. They are characterized by the highest reading precision and simple use. The line includes two models with different reading methods: the AR4 with analogue eyepiece reading and the AR2008 with a digital display. Both models offer identical measurement range (nD 1.3000-1.7200 and 0-95% Brix) and accuracy (±0.0002 nD/±0.1% Brix), and differ in resolution, temperature compensation, and communication interfaces. Thanks to the external circulation thermostat, it is possible to control the temperature of the measuring prism.

Application of Abbe AR Series Refractometers
Abbe refractometers are classic laboratory devices used for refractometric measurements in a wide range of refractive index nD and the Brix sugar scale. They are characterized by the highest reading precision and simple use.
A special feature of the AR series is the ability to measure not only liquid and viscous samples, but also solids and films, regardless of their turbidity, viscosity, transparency and absorption. Thanks to the external circulation thermostat, it is possible to control the temperature of the measuring prism – the thermostat connection is available on both models. The sample temperature is displayed on the LCD screen.
Abbe refractometers are widely used in the chemical, petrochemical, food industries, hospitals, pharmacies, and research and education offices. The main areas of application include identity test, purity control and determination of the concentration of raw materials, semi-finished products and end products, sugar concentration determination, incoming and outgoing goods inspection, food and pharmaceutical product testing, and testing for compliance with national and international standards.
Abbe AR 4 Analog Refractometer
AR 4 specifies the refractive index in the range of nD 1.3000 – 1.7200 and the sugar content in the range of 0 – 95% Brix. Measurements can be carried out for both liquid, viscous and solid samples, regardless of their turbidity, viscosity, transparency and absorption. The reading of the measured value is done through the eyepiece. The thermostat connection allows you to adjust the temperature with an external optional thermostat.
Abbe AR 2008 Digital Refractometer
The AR 2008 offers digital reading of the measurement results – refractive index, Brix value and temperature – on a digital display. Compared to AR 4, the AR 2008 model provides a higher measurement resolution (0.0001 nD / 0.1% Brix), automatic temperature compensation in the range of 0-90°C, higher temperature measurement accuracy (±0.3°C), and RS-232 and RS-422 interfaces to a PC or printer.
Other refractometers in Danlab's offer: digital refractometers and manual refractometers are also available in the refractometer category.
