OHAUS HB series heating blocks are universal heating blocks for everyday use with accessories for every application. The line includes three capacitive configurations – two-, four- and six-station – in a total of seven models differing in control type (analogue or digital) and optional equipment (HB2DGHL variant with heated cover). All models provide an even and stable temperature. Digital models offer a single-point display calibration function for 3 temperature setpoints and overheating protection (10°C above the setpoint).

Application of OHAUS HB heating blocks

OHAUS HB heating blocks are universal devices for everyday use in the laboratory with accessories adapted to different applications. All models provide an even and stable temperature.

The choice of model depends on two criteria: the number of stations and the type of control. The line includes three capacitive configurations (2-, 4- and 6-block). An analogue variant (HB2AL, HB4AL, HB6AL) and a digital variant (HB2DG, HB4DG, HB6DG) are available for each configuration. The 2-block models also offer a HB2DGHL variant – digital with a heated lid.

Analogue models offer two switchable temperature ranges: low (ambient temperature +5°C to 100°C) and high (75 – 150°C). The digital models operate in a single ambient temperature range of +5°C to 120°C (variant HB2DGHL up to 100°C). Digital models provide higher temperature stability of ±0.1°C for 2-block and ±0.2°C for 4- and 6-block, compared to ±1.5°C – ±2.5°C for analog models.

The digital models offer a unique single-point calibration function that allows you to match the heating block display indications to a known outdoor temperature pattern for 3 temperature setpoints. All digital models are equipped with overheating protection, which is activated 10°C above a defined value.

The heated lid HB2DGHL variant has a second heating module in the lid that minimizes condensation to preserve the integrity of the sample. The feature provides reproducible and reliable results and prevents contamination of samples.
