Application of the Schuett Count Colony Counter

The Schuett Count colony counter is used to manually count bacterial and bacteriophage colonies in petri dishes. Adjustable LED lighting intensity (three lighting modes) and contrast plates (light or dark background) allow you to adapt the device to different viewing conditions.

Accurate color reproduction makes it easier to distinguish differently colored cultures on selective culture media and nutrient discs in food analysis. In process water and wastewater analysis, high-contrast illumination makes it easier to distinguish between colonies growing in agar and colonies growing on the surface of agar.

Colony counting is done using a marker connected to the device, and the result is presented on a 4-digit LED display. The device is also equipped with a keyboard with a clear layout, covered with plastic. Adjustable pressure sensitivity allows you to adapt the device to the operator's working technique.

As standard, the device supports 90 mm pans, and after selecting the appropriate adapter (optional) — also 50-60 mm or 140-150 mm pans. The extensive optional equipment also includes a 3x magnifying glass, an LED lamp for the overhead illumination, a Spiral-Plater disc, a counting needle and a Wolffhügel disc.

Other bacterial colony counters in Danlab's offer: The manual Scan 50 and 50 PRO and automatic counters – Scan 4000 and the SCAN series – are also available in the colony counter category.
