Manual bacterial colony counters are safe devices used for economical counting of bacterial and bacteriophage colonies grown on Petri dishes. Thanks to the use of LED light, high image clarity is achieved, which allows for more precise viewing of colonies. The devices have a multifunctional display as well as a plastic-covered keyboard. A USB port allows exporting results to a memory stick or computer. Some models are equipped with Dark Field technology, which allows contrasting colony illumination. Bacterial colonies are counted using a marker connected to the device's handle.
