Tweezers are pieces of basic laboratory equipment that make it possible to grasp objects when small size makes manipulation with the hands difficult or impossible. Laboratory tweezers operate on the principle of two single-sided levers, connected together on one side and with gripping jaws on the other. Tweezers find a wide range of applications especially in surgery, cosmetology and dentistry. Tweezers are also routinely used in laboratories to manipulate corrosive or toxic substances and to handle samples that should not be picked up directly with the fingers due to their toxicity.
